A Morning Out On The Water And A Climb Up A Volcano

Saturday morning and we hop in our kayak at St Heliers Bay to kayak across the Waitemata Harbour to the largest Volcano in Auckland, Rangitoto. What a wonderful experience, blue sky, crystal clear waters, and after a 45 minutes climb we reach the summit and are rewarded with the most amazing views of the harbour and city (360 degrees). A serene place with lava rock to both sides of the trail and we find Kidney Fern (Konehu), which is usually just found in the South of the South Island (we got told).

After a relaxing morning tea, we hop back into our kayaks, sighting some graceful stingrays and paddle back to the City of Sails. Let us know if you are keen for an active adventure and we will design a private tour just for you. A day away from the crowds with your private local Auckland tour guide.
